Data sheet
SNAP-8
This preview is the one-page Alpine Ascent sheet for SNAP-8. It is the reference copy for reconstitution, frequency, and the figures printed on the sheet. Open it when you want the full page.
What it is
SNAP-8 (acetyl octapeptide-3) is a synthetic octapeptide related to Argireline and designed to mimic part of SNAP-25. It is studied primarily in topical cosmetic formulations for expression-line appearance, wrinkle research, skin smoothness, and texture. Its proposed mechanism involves modulation of SNAP-25/SNARE signaling and acetylcholine release. Penetration to deeper neuromuscular targets through intact skin remains uncertain.
What researchers study it for
- Dynamic expression lines, including forehead, crow's feet, and smile lines
- Wrinkle appearance and skin smoothness
- Skin texture and cosmetic skin quality
- Topical cosmetic formulation research
- SNAP-25 / SNARE-complex pathway research
- Non-invasive cosmetic peptide delivery research
How it may work
- Mimics a portion of the SNAP-25 protein
- May interfere with SNAP-25 / SNARE-complex assembly
- May reduce efficiency of acetylcholine release in model systems
- May lessen repetitive facial-muscle signaling associated with expression lines
- Topical penetration to neuromuscular targets is not established
Research timeline
1–4 weeks
Assess tolerance, skin texture, and early expression-line appearance.
4–8 weeks
Evaluate wrinkle appearance, smoothness, and consistency of cosmetic effects.
8–12 weeks
Monitor ongoing skin-quality changes with consistent topical use.
12+ weeks
Longer-term observation may continue. Long-term SNAP-8-specific data are limited.
10 mg topical research formulation
- Reference stock
- 10 mg in 20 mL of a suitable cosmetic base (0.5 mg/mL, 0.05%)
- Finished product
- 3–10% of that stock, about 0.0015–0.005% peptide in the finished product
- Application
- A thin layer on clean, dry skin, commonly forehead, crow's feet, and smile lines
- Frequency
- Twice daily, morning and evening
- Research duration
- 8–12 weeks
- Storage
- Refrigerate after preparation and protect from light
- Notes
- Topical research only. Do not inject. No validated injectable dosing protocol has been established.
Research duration on the sheet: 8–12 weeks of consistent topical application on the source sheet.
Reconstitution
- 10 mg + 20 mL cosmetic base = 0.5 mg/mL (0.05%) reference stock.
- Finished product uses 3–10% of that stock.
Titration notes
- No injectable titration applies.
- This sheet is a topical formulation reference, not a syringe protocol.
Important considerations
- For educational and research purposes only.
- Published evidence is primarily topical and cosmetic.
- No peer-reviewed injectable dosing protocol has been established.
- Avoid use on broken or actively irritated skin.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding safety data are insufficient.
- Do not inject.

Completed published studies are listed below and labeled as in vitro, animal, or human research. Favorable and unfavorable results are both included, including cancer studies. This is not every paper on the compound, and it is not a recommendation or a dose.
A completed clinical trial of SNAP-8 by itself was not identified. Published cosmetic reports usually place it inside a multi-ingredient cream, so those results cannot be credited to SNAP-8 alone. A completed cancer study was not identified.
